Roulette Bet Calculator

See exactly what your roulette bet does before you place it. Put chips anywhere on the table, from single numbers and splits to dozens, columns and French call bets like Voisins du Zero. The calculator shows your net profit or loss for every number on the wheel. It also tells you how many numbers win, how many lose, and which numbers pay the most, so you can see how much of the wheel your layout really covers.

How to use the roulette bet calculator

  1. Pick a chip value: Choose from 0.01 to 500.
  2. Place your bets: Click any number, line, or outside bet to add chips. The Voisins, Tiers and Orphelins buttons place the full French call bets for you.
  3. Read the table: Each number shows what you’d win or lose if it landed. Your total stake is shown under the table.
  4. Check your coverage: The coverage panel counts your winning numbers, losing numbers and best-paying numbers, and shows each as a percentage of the wheel.
  5. Adjust your stakes: Double, halve or triple every chip at once, undo your last chip, or hold the clear button to start again.
  6. Save your layouts: Keep the layouts you want to come back to.

Switch between single-zero and double-zero layouts, or turn on French Roulette (La Partage) to see how the rule changes your losses when zero lands.

Understanding your results

Jackpot. The number or numbers that pay your biggest profit. These are usually where several of your bets overlap.

Win. Any number that returns more than your total stake.

Whack. Any number where you lose money overall. Players use this term for the spins that hurt. A layout can win on most numbers and still have several whacks that cost far more than a typical win.

A number can also break even, where it pays back exactly what you staked. Break-even numbers count as neither a win nor a whack.

Why more coverage doesn’t mean better odds

Covering more of the wheel changes how often you win, not how much you win in the long run.

Take $10 on the first dozen and $10 on the second dozen on a European wheel. You cover 24 of 37 numbers, so you win $10 on about 65% of spins. On the other 13 numbers, including zero, you lose $20. Averaged over every possible spin, you lose about $0.54 per $20 staked, which is exactly the 2.70% house edge.

Whatever layout you build, the average loss works out the same: your total stake multiplied by the house edge. That’s 2.70% on a European wheel and 5.26% on an American one. Layouts that cover more numbers usually win more often but lose bigger when they miss. The calculator shows you that trade-off number by number.

La Partage is the one rule here that does change the math. On French tables, even-money bets lose only half the stake when zero lands, which cuts the house edge on those bets to 1.35%. Turn on the option to see the effect on your layout.

Popular layouts to try

Voisins du Zero: Covers the 17 numbers closest to zero on the wheel, using splits, a trio and a corner.

Tiers du Cylindre: Covers the 12 numbers opposite zero on the wheel with six splits.

Orphelins: Covers the remaining 8 numbers with one straight-up and four splits.

Two dozens: A simple high-coverage layout that wins on about two-thirds of spins.

Your own system: Recreate a layout from a YouTube video or forum post and check for yourself where it wins and where it loses.

Once you’ve built a layout, test it on thousands of random spins with our Roulette Spin Simulator. If you plan to raise stakes after losses, check how far your bankroll goes with the Bankroll Calculator.

FAQs

What is a roulette bet calculator?

A tool that shows the outcome of a roulette bet, or a combination of bets, for every possible number. Ours displays your net profit or loss on each number and summarizes how much of the wheel you cover.

What does “whack” mean in roulette?

A losing result. In this calculator, a whack is any number where your total payout is less than your total stake.

What’s the best roulette coverage?

No layout has better long-term odds than another. Every combination of bets carries the same house edge, so coverage only decides how your results are spread: frequent small wins with occasional big losses, or rare big wins with frequent small losses.

Does the calculator work for American roulette?

Yes. Switch to the double-zero layout to add the 00 pocket. Remember that American roulette’s house edge is 5.26%, nearly double the European wheel’s.

What does La Partage do?

On French roulette, if zero lands, you get half your stake back on even-money bets such as red/black, odd/even and high/low. This halves the house edge on those bets to 1.35%.

What are Voisins, Tiers and Orphelins?

French call bets that cover sections of the wheel rather than the table. Together they cover every number except zero’s neighbors in Voisins. The calculator places each one with a single click.

Play responsibly

A layout that wins on 30 numbers can still lose your whole stake in one spin. Set a budget before you play, and only gamble with money you can afford to lose. If gambling stops being fun, call 1-800-GAMBLER or visit the National Council on Problem Gambling.
